Berry Good Smoothies

If you're looking for yummy, refreshing recipes as we head into warm(ish) weather in Boone, here are some smoothie recipes to try!

This one is stolen from Cosmo! It’s called the Mexican Chocolate smoothie, featuring a refreshing flavor of chocolate, banana, cinnamon, and spice. This smoothie kick started my afternoon and, although, not what i expected it was still really good.

1 cup cold coconut milk

½ banana

4 ice cubes

2 Tb spoons unsweetened cocoa powder

2 Tb spoon brown sugar

½ t spoon ground cinnamon

¼ t spoon cayenne pepper

¼ t spoon kosher salt

Blend.

This smoothie is great for after a hard workout because it is loaded with protein and carbs that will replenish your body with seriously good nutrients! This recipe combines fruit and kale which loads your diet with vitamins D and C too. So check it out >>>>

2 C fresh Kale

1 C coconut water (or regular water, but preferably coconut!)

1 peeled orange

1 C pineapple

1 C blueberries

2 Tb spoons chia seeds

Blend kale and liquid first, then add other ingredients for best results.

Also this recipe serves two, I was very confused as to why my smoothie was so huge before I realized this. Enjoy!
