Yeezy Season 3 Recap

The season is upon us. No, I'm not talking about baseball season or fall. I’m talking about Yeezy Season 3. The season that hypebeasts have been waiting for over 3 years to experience. Kanye West fans everywhere packed theatres and even maxed out Madison Square Garden, the home of the main event.

An album debut and a clothing expo put all under one roof then further broadcasted across the world. The crowds were full with many different varieties of Kanye fans, including the ones lucky enough to grab the new ‘Yeezy Boosts’ and the ones just following the progression of the album.

Kanye West is held on a high pedestal in the world of pop culture, in the ways that he interacts with media and the standard he sets for his own self image. The fact that he rented out MSG and packed every theatre that his event was being broadcast in, comes as a surprise to nobody that follows Kanye. Kanye has a cult-like following behind him, a group of fans like no other.

Inside MSG stood tall platforms, under huge air filled tarps. The scene was set to recreate that of a Rwandan Refugee Camp. As the doors opened and the crowd filed in, the models for the show were lead to their spots under the tarps. The arena was dark with spotlights on the tarps. The crowd held a steady volume as they awaited the arrival of the man of the hour. The crowd erupted in applause as the Kardashian family made their way to a roped off area away from the crowd. Then followed in Kanye, a straggling Lamar Odom and some reporters behind them. The applause continued until Kanye made it to the production kiosk. Then the crowd silenced and it was time. Kanye hit the booth, hooked up the laptop and it went down.

The event was insanely successful. Kanye then released album on Tidal on the following Sunday. The album has been under an intense amount of scrutiny for not releasing anywhere else. You can peep the event on Tidal along with the full album also exclusively on Tidal.
